// The Quantum Approach

Every golfer is different. So is every putting improvement plan we build.

We don't hand you a method and hope it fits. We focus only on the Five Fundamentals that matter: face angle at impact, natural arc, speed, green reading and the mental game. We measure your stroke, find the one or two things actually costing you shots, and build a plan around you, in plain English.

The Five Fundamentals · what they mean & why they're proven

01Face Angle at Impact

Where the putter face points at the moment it hits the ball.

PROVENPelz measured that face angle at impact sets about 83% of the start line, and path only 17%.[1] A study of elite players found face angle at impact explained 80% of the variation in their start direction.[2]

02Natural Arc

Because you stand beside the ball and the shaft leans, the putter swings on a gentle curve, not a straight line.

PROVENMotion-capture coaching shows almost all good putters swing on an arc.[3] The same elite-player study found the stroke path has only a minor effect on direction.[2] So there's no need to force it straight. Keep the face square instead.

03Speed

How hard you hit the putt: the pace the ball arrives at the hole.

PROVENPelz's roller tests found that a ball going about 17 inches past the hole drops most often. It holds its line through the bumpy ground around the cup.[1]

04Green Reading

Judging the slope, so you know how much the putt will curve.

PROVENPelz's testing found golfers consistently under-read break, then try to correct it with their stroke.[1] A simple, repeatable read removes that hidden error.[4]

05The Mental Game

See it. Feel it. Trust it. You have an incredible unconscious, natural ability to roll a ball to a target. Your job is to trust it. Commit to the line and pace, lock your eyes and mind on the target, and let the stroke go.

GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY.

PROVENRotella's approach is used by major winners.[5] Research shows that consciously controlling your movement gets in the way of the automatic system that already knows how to do it. Focusing on the target lets it work, improving both performance and learning.[6]

01 // It starts with you

We treat everyone differently

Beginner or single figures, your stroke is your own. So we start with facts, not opinions: a SAM PuttLab assessment, the measurement system used on tour and by the world's leading putting coaches.

SAM records 28 parameters of your stroke, including face angle at impact, aim, path and arc, tempo, rotation and strike spot. Then we look at what actually happens to the ball.

What you get
A clear picture of your stroke, the one or two faults worth fixing, and just as importantly, the things to leave alone.

02 // The scoreboard

Two numbers that tell the truth

Putts per round is misleading: it punishes you for good chipping. We benchmark and track you with two better measures.

◎

Dispersion

Where your putts start and finish. A tighter pattern means more holed putts and fewer three-putts. We track your pattern from session to session, so you can see it shrink.

+SG

Strokes Gained

The honest scorecard. It measures every putt against what a golfer at your level would expect from that distance, compared with your own handicap, not just tour pros.[9]

These two numbers are the reference point for everything we do. If they don't move, we tune the plan.

03 // No myth. No legend.

We cut through the noise

Putting is full of tips handed down from the bar. We use proven methods, backed by research and data, explained in plain English, to improve your results on the course quickly and build real confidence.

Why the old way hasn't worked

Golfers today have more instruction than ever: books, videos, training aids. Yet average handicaps have barely moved in decades. Our white paper The Improvement Paradox explains why. Most traditional teaching gives you more to think about, while the research shows what makes skill stick.

What controlled trials show works:

◆ Focus on the outcome, not your body. Attention on the ball and the target beats attention on hands, wrists and shoulders, and the gain lasts.[6]

◆ Varied practice beats repetition. Hitting the same putt over and over feels good but holds up worse a week later.[7]

◆ The right level of challenge. Practice should be hard enough for your level, and no harder.[8]

Outcome over mechanics

We measure your mechanics with SAM so you don't have to think about them. On the green, your attention goes on the ball, the line and the hole. We judge success by what the ball does, not by how the stroke looks.

MYTH"Get your path straight and the putts will drop."
FACTThe face angle at impact sets about 83% of your start line. Path sets only 17%.[1] Across elite players, face angle at impact explains about 80% of the variation in start direction.[2]
MYTH"An arcing stroke needs a toe-hang putter."
FACTThat's a convention, not settled science. We test putters on your stroke and let the data decide.
MYTH"Just practise more."
FACTPractising more without measuring rarely helps. Feel can't see face angle at impact or pace. Measured feedback is what makes practice count.[7][8]
04 // Your putter

Keep. Tune. Replace.

The wrong putter makes you compensate, and compensating makes the face inconsistent. Our SAM putter fitting protocol, paired with Claude AI analysis, checks whether your putter suits your stroke. We don't start by selling you a new one.

We tell you straight whether your putter is helping or hindering you. The verdict comes from your SAM data and your Strokes Gained, not from opinion, brand or fashion.

KEEP
It suits you. Keep it and focus on the stroke.
TUNE
It's close. Adjust the length, lie, grip or weight.
REPLACE
Only when the data says it can't be made to work.

Every candidate putter is tested on SAM against your own stroke, and we measure before and after so the fit has to prove itself. Then Bones AI tracks your misses with it on the course.

05 // Under the bonnet

Our engine: the Codex

The Quantum Coaching Codex is a core part of our solution. It's our reference library: the proven research and expert methods that power everything we do.

It brings together the best thinking of the world's leading putting experts and weighs each piece of advice by the evidence behind it. If it isn't backed by research or data, it doesn't go in.

Dig in at any level

The Codex is open to you. Read the one-line summary, go a layer deeper into how and why it works, or follow it all the way to the original research. You choose how far to go.

How it powers your plan:

06 // Practice that sticks

Easy at home. Proven on the green.

⌂ At home

Short, focused sessions, about 10 minutes and a dozen putts at a time. We use a range of putting mat solutions, including PuttR, AirBreak and WellPutt, matched to your space and your goals. Every drill is scored on what the ball does. The Bones AI app can log every session, so you can track and understand your progress.

⛳ On the green

Real greens add the parts a mat can't: reading the break, speed ladders and lag putting. They prepare you for the first putt that counts.

Home practice builds the stroke. Practice on the green carries it onto the course. You need both.

07 // Your coach in your pocket

Bones AI

Bones AI is our own app. It makes it easy to capture your putting data on your phone, whether you're on the course or practising.

Capture

Log putts in seconds: distance, result, and where you missed.

▼
Coach on the spot

Instant feedback on your pattern: was it the face, the pace or the read?

▼
Build over time

Every session feeds your dispersion and Strokes Gained and goes into your improvement plan, so we can tune it as you progress.
